Boeing to create 250 jobs with new Adelaide hub

plane waiting at airportAusBNAusBN - Boeing (NYSE:BA) is set to unveil a new office in Adelaide, creating 250 technical and advanced research jobs in the process.

The American aerospace company were convinced to set up the regional office by the government of South Australia’s Investment Attraction Agency, which seeks to promote the state’s attractiveness as a business investment destination.

Boeing’s new operation in the Adelaide CBD will support the development of advanced military systems and will work closely with South Australia’s universities and research organisations.

SA Premier Jay Weatherill said: "When you get a big player like this, the next step is to work with them to realise the ambitions of this company to grow and find other ways in which they can expand their operations.

"That'll be the task now we've got them here — that's a fantastic foothold, we now want them to expand their operations even beyond the 250 [jobs]."

The state government is confident that Boeing’s presence in Adelaide will provide a boost to the economy through creating high-tech and advanced manufacturing jobs.

Boeing employ over 3,000 people across Australia (mostly in Queensland), making the country its largest base outside of the US.
