South Australia invests $7.3m in attracting overseas students

AusBN – Over the next four years the South Australian government has announced that it will invest US$5.7 million (A$7.3 million) into attracting students from overseas.

The ‘Destination Adelaide’ campaign will target students in China, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and Hong Kong.

The funds will be used to develop scholarship and incentive programmes for international students.

Treasurer Tom Koutsantonis said: “This investment is about accelerating the growth of our international education sector to drive the economy and job creation.

“It links directly with one of our key economic priorities to grow South Australia’s reputation as the ‘knowledge state’ and attract a diverse body of students.”
